OK, let’s see if adding the bit of code in the correct file works for me. Mind you, I have been a bit thick – it wasn’t even in the “wrong” place any more, as there had been an update to WordPress, which removed it. Doh!!

@matigo So it seems – the update was automatic I think, so… Now googling “child themes” for WordPress. I think it might be too late in the evening for me to consider doing anything about that now. Looks a bit complicated to me!

@matigo Indeed. Well, I have created a child theme directory. Will read up more about how exactly I move on from there… It’s bound to be more complicated than I’d like!
@vanessa It really is Tinkering with WP 101. The instructions in the codex are pretty good, and I think you will enjoy it. If you need help, there are plenty here or in the other place who can oblige.
