@vanessa Fascinating. This is the point, the relegation of the arts and music in education, that Ken Robinson was making in his famous TED Talk. Back in the 60s/70s some schools even made records – these are now highly collectible. I have a CD called Classroom Projects which is great, some of it is quite avant garde! I heard about the CD on a Radio 4 documentary called The School is Full of Noises which was presented by Ian McMillan and is still available on BBC iPlayer. Well worth a listen. I couldn’t imagine living without music and not playing instruments. That’s what keeps me sane! 🎵
